Our Crew
Cy Wastell
ROTATIONAL CAPTAIN
Appointed Captain in May of 2018, Cy was previously the First Mate aboard M/Y No Comment for three and a half years, therefore knows every nook and cranny aboard the 48m vessel. With 17 years of superyacht crewing experience and a degree in Yacht Design he is well qualified to lead the No Comment crew and guests on the many ocean-going adventures across the globe. He has cruised the Mediterranean, Caribbean, North America, Central America, South Pacific, Australasia, and South East Asia, always aiming to bring guests memorable experiences in new locations.
A dual citizen of the UK & NZ, Cy grew up on the Canterbury Plains of New Zealand in Kaiapoi, just north of Christchurch. Cy is an avid supporter of the New Zealand ‘Black Caps’ cricket team and enjoys any outdoor activity or adventurous pursuit.
In recent years he has discovered a passion for wildlife photography and is becoming somewhat of a “birder” as the years pass by.
Mark Keyes
ROTATIONAL CAPTAIN
Returning to No Comment as part of the Captain duo is Mark Keyes, originally from Oregon, USA.
Mark started out completing a bachelor’s degree in Photo Journalism after school, however he then decided to pursue a career in yachting where he would have the opportunity to photograph some of the most beautiful places in the world; all while combining his love for the water and travel.
With much experience in the yachting industry, 15 years to be exact, he is certainly the man for the job. Mark departed us in 2021 after being the First Mate on board for 2.5 years to achieve his Masters, and has been Captaining the high seas ever since. When the position opened up on No Comment, Mark couldn’t help but to jump at the opportunity.
When not at the helm, you can find Mark at the gym, hiking or on the golf course. With his dive Master certificate in hand, you can also be sure to find Mark under water in the beautiful, remote locations that we frequent.
Shane Coetser
FIRST MATE
Growing up between the farm and the beach, fellow Durbanite Shane joins No Comment to lead the deck team.
Shane spent the first 2.5 years of his adult life commercial diving in Durban Harbour and surrounding quarries. However, it was a conversation with a friend 8 years ago that sparked his interest into what yachting might involve. Although originally uncertain if yachting was for him, it has now turned into a lifelong career as he continues to further his studies to be a Captain one day.
In his free time Shane loves surfing, even attempting Cloud Break in Fiji, free diving, and generally any sports that enable him to keep fit, active and healthy. Not only does he love the water, but also the skies, having recently qualified as a paraglider!
One of Shane’s big passions within his career is his focus on safety culture on board, which is undeniably a valuable asset. He leads the deck team by example, finding the perfect balance between fun and safety during your stay on No Comment.
Pedro Zamora
Rotational CHIEF ENGINEER
Pedro joins No Comment from Mazatlán, Mexico as the other half of our Engineering team. Growing up on the coast, he always knew he wanted to be involved in the marine industry, and so went straight into university to study Marine Engineering for 4 years. With his degree in hand he joined commercial ships, followed by working offshore on gas and oil rig boats for 5 years.
In 2016 Pedro decided that it would be beneficial to learn English, and that being in the yachting industry would help with this feat. What was meant to be temporary has now turned into a lifelong career in yachting.
In his spare time, you can find Pedro in the gym or playing baseball, as well as watching the UFC and boxing. When home on rotation he loves spending time with his 5-year-old daughter and experiencing the world through her eyes.
Pedro has some great ambitions too, like climbing to the base of Mount Everest, skydiving and running his first half marathon.
With his great sense of humour, Pedro is sure to put a smile on your face whilst on board. He is a team player and always willing to help wherever he can.
Glenn Wantenaar
Rotational CHIEF ENGINEER
Some of you may recognize our rotational Engineer, Glenn, as he previously worked on board for 4 years, leaving us to go land-based in 2021.
Before beginning his career on the ocean 12 years ago, Glenn worked as a fitter and turner at a shipyard in New Zealand.
He is an avid environmentalist with a particular love for sharks. Having previously worked for Sea Shepherd, he was involved in patrolling most of Central America for illegal fishing boats and attempting to put a stop to shark finning operations.
Glenn took a hiatus from yachting for the past 2 years to spend some quality time with his children and to travel to New Zealand’s South Island for the first time, despite having lived in the country for 22 years. He thought he had given up yachting for good however he started feeling the call of the ocean once again, and so has returned to yachts on a rotational basis.
In his spare time Glenn can be found practicing his Spanish and immersing himself in the local culture.
He is always up for a good laugh with his love for pranks and a bit of sarcasm. Should you need a helping hand, Glenn will be there in the blink of an eye.

Lucy Edwards
CHEF
Growing up in Stoke-on-Trent, about as far from the ocean as you can be in Britain, Lucy is continually amazed by life on the water. Even after four years in the yachting industry, she still finds that every day brings something new and exciting, especially while exploring this unique part of the world for the first time.
Lucy has been passionate about cooking since the age of 17, when she began studying for a degree in Culinary Arts Management. Since then, she has put her skills to use around the globe, working in ski chalets, private homes, and aboard superyachts. She finds great fulfilment in creating memorable dining experiences and believes that sharing food is one of the best ways to bring people together. This philosophy is reflected in her cooking, where she strives to create dishes that not only delight guests but also create lasting memories.
An avid traveller, Lucy loves discovering new cultures through their food and hopes her career will continue to take her to new destinations around the world, allowing her to learn from and be inspired by a wide variety of cuisines. When she's not in the galley, Lucy can usually be found in the mountains, her favourite place to unwind and recharge. She has a passion for the outdoors and loves challenging herself through activities such as hiking, wild camping, bouldering, skiing, and trail running. Whether it's tackling a long-distance trail, reaching a summit, or exploring new countries, she is always looking for her next adventure and enjoys pushing herself beyond her comfort zone.
Seth van den Berg
BOSUN
Joining the No Comment team as Bosun, and appointed Captain of our beloved Intrepid “Still Here”, is Seth - born and raised in Amanzimtoti, South Africa.
Fresh out of school, Seth decided to study his Yachtmasters in order to begin his yachting career. Unfortunately, like many things, this was put on hold when Covid hit and so he did some work in air conditioning and refrigeration as well as recreational fishing to pass the time. In 2021, he was finally able to fulfil his dream of working on a superyacht, something he has wanted to do since seeing one in the Seychelles at age 12.
Seth has always had a love for the ocean, spending many weekends with a line in the water waiting for that next big catch. Fishing since age 7, he then went on to compete, eventually earning himself three African records for the heaviest and largest fish caught on a certain class of line. When not on the water, Seth enjoys using his hands for woodworking, building model cars and working on his own car back home to then take 4x4-ing.
With his quiet confidence in all he does, you’re sure to feel safe in Seth’s hands when out and about on the Intrepid, hopefully catching a fish or two, and definitely having a few laughs while you’re at it!
Joshua Polkinghorne
DECKHAND/DIVE INSTRUCTOR
From the South African west coast to the east coast - Cape Town to Sodwana Bay – our Deckhand/Dive Instructor, Josh, has called many places home over the years, however Sodwana Bay is where he feels most at home.
Once Josh had completed his schooling career, he decided to jump straight into the world of yachting. It was his first job on a yacht that would change his life forever and inspire him to give diving a go. For Josh it was love at first dive and he has since tallied up over 2000 dives since he started in 2019. Apart from being a dive instructor on yachts, he has also worked at dive centres in the Bahamas, Indonesia and the BVIs.
Josh is most happy being out in nature, whether it be sleeping in hammocks in the Indonesian wilderness for months at a time or finding trails right off the back of the boat in search of animals. He also enjoys surfing whenever he can and practicing the art of yoga.
Whether you dive or not, you’re sure to feel the enthusiasm for the underwater world when talking with Josh. He brings a good energy to the team and is certainly a “colourful character”.
Rebecca Smit
SECOND STEWARDESS
Rebecca is a 27‑year‑old from Plettenberg Bay, a small coastal town in South Africa where her love for the ocean first began. Growing up by the sea gave her a strong appreciation for adventure, nature, and the outdoors, which ultimately led her into yachting.
She is a positive, friendly, and easygoing individual who enjoys meeting new people and making the most of every experience. Rebecca loves staying active, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and spending time outdoors whenever possible. Travelling brings her great happiness, and she enjoys discovering different places, cultures, and ways of life along the way.
Friends and family are very important to Rebecca, but she knew that yachting was the journey she wanted to pursue at this stage of her life. She loves the excitement, adventure, and opportunities that come with working at sea and is always looking forward to the next destination.
Izzie Corbett
Third STEWARDESS
Joining us from the United Kingdom, in Essex to be exact, is our 3rd Stewardess Izzie Corbett.
Izzie has always been interested in what makes people tick, finding the human mind and psychology as a whole extremely interesting. So, when the time came to go to university in Liverpool, she naturally decided to study psychology with the dream of one day becoming a therapist, something which she still aims to pursue after yachting.
Growing up in a sailing-centric town with both her dad and grandad involved in the sport, it’s no wonder that Izzie learnt to sail at the age of 6, eventually sailing competitively in her teens and representing England in the RS Feva world championships. Her involvement in the sailing world of course led Izzie to always have yachting on her radar which, combined with her love for hospitality and passion for travelling the world, was the perfect match! Apart from sailing, Izzie enjoys keeping active whether that be hiking, soon completing her diving course, or trying her hands at a new creative hobby such as crocheting.
Izzie is bursting with energy, bringing positivity and optimism to any situation on board. She is sure to take good care of all your Interior needs with her warm and friendly nature.
